The Fire Captain performs and directly supervises / supports a team of 6-7 firefighters in performing structural and ARFF firefighting related functions as well as other duties as assigned. Fire Captains report directly to the Fire Chief.
Under the supervision of the Fire Chief will assist in the direction of and participate in all firefighting activities at England Airpark and its facilities.
Perform all duties as set forth in the

job description for Fire Captain, Firefighter, and Driver Operator.
Conduct and supervise fire drills and instruct others in techniques and methods of firefighting.
Assist in the provision of the general security on the Airport / Airpark.
Assist in the maintenance of the fire / safety equipment and facility.
Assist in the training of mutual aid personnel as requested.
Assist in the supervision and detection of airport safety hazards.
Assign duties to personnel assigned to the shift.
Prepare and instruct Fire Department training and safety training to Airpark tenants.
Prepare daily station log, State fire incidents reports, and any other reports or paperwork that may be required.
Assist in the supervision of Airport facility, ARFF, Structural, and EMS operations on assigned shifts or act as the IC in the Fire Chiefs absence.
Have a working knowledge of the Incident Command System.
Supervise the Firefighter / Driver Operators on assigned shifts.
Perform evaluations on employees when requested. Ensure contractual compliance, adhere to/ maintain a working knowledge of the policies and procedures of, and Centerra, England Airpark, FAA, PIAL, BEMS, and the NFPA.
Perform other duties as required.
Minimum 23 years of age
US Citizen
GED or High School Diploma
Valid drivers' license and driving history acceptable to the customer
Ability to pass a background check acceptable to the FAA and customer
Ability to pass pre-employment Firefighter/DOT physical, Drug Screen, and Physical Ability Test (PAT)
Ability to obtain driver qualifications on all apparatus within one (1) year of appointment
Minimum five (5) years full time firefighting experience including two (2) years experience with Airports/ARFF services
IFSAC or NPQS Firefighter I/II
IFSAC or NPQS Haz Mat Operations
IFSAC or NPQS Fire Officer I
IFSAC or NPQS Fire Instructor I
IFSAC or NPQS ARFF or ability to obtain with six (6) months of appointment
NREMT/LABEM EMT-Basic of higher or the ability to obtain within twelve (12) months of hire
NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800
Current AHA CPR (Professional Rescuer Level)
